Impulse Adjusting

In my office, I specialize in low force adjustments that don’t require popping or twisting.  With my adjustments, there is no “crack” or “pop”.

One of the main techniques I use is the Impulse Instrument Adjusting Technique. The instrument adjusts 100 times faster than the hand can move. Research has found that the faster the adjustment, the better the adjustment. The high frequency causes a greater stimulation of mechano-receptors in the spine.  These nerve receptors then help block pain messages to the brain and normalize the nervous system.

Chiropractors train for hours and hours and they still can’t achieve the speed that this instrument delivers. I have used every instrument on the market in my 30 years in practice and have found that the Impluse instrument provides a better response than any of the other adjusting instruments. I am the only chiropractor in Novato who uses this technique.

Just as lasers have replaced scalpels in some surgeries, advanced technology has become available to chiropractors to assist in delivering chiropractic adjustments.  This patented and FDA registered device was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function.

The Impulse Adjusting Instrument is controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that produces a controlled force that chiropractors can use to treat different areas of the body. The Impulse Instrument is the most versatile instrument within the Chiropractic profession. It is effective in correcting dysfunctional spinal vertebrae & joints, intervertebral discs, extremity joints (arms and legs), tight, strained, contracted or spasmed muscles, trigger points, sprained ligaments, inflamed tendons or bursae, fallen arches of the foot and plantar fascitis.

Some of the benefits of Impulse instrument adjusting are:

Extreme Speed

Impulse is twice as fast as other adjusting instruments and 100x faster than hands on chiropractic adjustments. The gentle thrust is faster than the body’s tendency to tighten up and resist the adjustment.

Controlled Force

Impulse has three different force settings for different parts of the body and to treat patients of all ages. The controlled low force thrust of Impulse makes treatments comfortable.

Frequency Tuned Waveform

Impulse is specifically tuned to the natural frequency of the body that joints, muscles and nerves respond to, optimizing results for patients.

Research

Years of research have gone into the development of the Impulse Adjusting Instrument to create gentle and specific chiropractic adjustments that are safe and effective for patients of all ages.

What does it feel like?

Impulse adjustments are high-tech.   There is no twisting or turning of the head, neck or back.  Even though these manual techniques are safe, they are movements that may have kept some people from seeing a chiropractor and missing out on its unparalleled benefits.  Now, with the safe & gentle Impulse Instrument Adjusting, there is no longer a need to be wary.  During treatment, the patient lies comfortably on their stomach or can even sit up in a special chair, whichever is more accommodating.

There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments , but rather very precise and targeted adjustments designed to specifically care for just the right areas. Chiropractic adjustments with the Impulse Adjusting Instrument feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated. In most cases the treatment is painless and after the adjustment many patients feel relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well-being or a soothing calm feeling. Of course, results vary from case to case and chronic conditions, inflammation or muscle spasms may slow recovery.
