SALIVA HORMONE TESTS
I use saliva hormone tests by Diagnos-Techs to evaluate stress and sex hormone levels. Saliva hormone testing requires NO blood draw and is very accurate. Saliva hormone testing measures the un-bound or free hormone levels. Many of the samples are taking over a period of time so you get a better representation of overall hormone levels. Diagnos-Techs is the only laboratory that measures LH and FSH. On occasion I will also order serum hormones test as well.
Adrenal Stress Index— Cortisol Rythmn
The Adrenal Stress index measures the amount your stress hormones produced in one day as well as the rthymn of your cortisol levels. This helpful to evaluate the circadian rythmn and sleep problems. This tests takes four cortisol samples over a 24 hour period as well as DHEA, 17-Hydroxyprogesterone, Two insulin tests , Total salivary SIgA and Gliadin antibodies (gluten)
Female Hormone Panel
This test is for women who are still having a period and are having symptoms related to irregular hormone cycling. The Female Hormone Panel maps the free-fraction levels of estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) throughout one complete menstrual cycle. The panel also measures free testosterone and DHEA throughout the cycle. This panel uses 11 saliva samples collected throughout one menstrual cycle. This expanded version also includes five additional FSH and LH measurements.
Male Hormone Panel
Males suffer from hormone imbalances also. They often have either low testosterone or high estrogen. The Male Hormone Panel measures progesterone, dehydroepiandrosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA & DHEAS), testosterone, androstenedione, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), estrone, and estradiol plus follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH and LH levels provide a more complete understanding of hormonal abnormalities.
Post Menopausal Hormone Panel
The Post Menopausal Hormone Panel is helpful to discover not only the cause symptoms but also for prevention. This test measures six key hormones: progesterone, estradiol, estrone, estriol, testosterone and DHEA. In addition it also measures FSH and LH to check pituitary hormone output.
